UPDATE to our announcement for the 15th Annual Bureau of Special Education Back to School Meeting

UPDATE: We have been able to add an afternoon session of more valuable information! There is no need to register for this session, but please consider joining our colleagues, Scott Newgass, Kimberly Traverso, and Glen Peterson if you would like to learn more about Standards and Guidelines for Students Who Have Been Expelled.

This session will run from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and is designed to provide an overview of two important CSDE guidance documents that were released this year: Alternative Educational Settings for Students Who Have Been Expelled: Best Practice Guidelines for Program Implementation and the companion document Alternative Educational Settings for Students Who Have Been Expelled: Best Practice Guidelines for Program Implementation.  These guidance documents will be available along with all other documents for this event at http://ctserc.org/bts18 beginning on September 7th.  Consultants from the CSDE Office of Student Supports will be on hand to address any questions.

The 15th Annual Bureau of Special Education Back to School Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel (formerly the Radisson Inn) in Cromwell, CT. In the afternoon (1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.), our keynote speaker Calvin Terrell will host a facilitated discussion and Q&A related to application of Enhancing Student Voice in school districts. Additionally, there are dedicated sessions for New Directors of Special Education, Directors of Approved Private Special Education Programs (APSEPs), as well as presentations by the Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center (CPAC) and LRP Special Education Connection. Registration for the New Directors session and the APSEPs meeting is restricted to appropriate personnel.

Please register for the General Session as well as an afternoon session if you are able to remain.

But, in case you missed our email to you, here is your 15th Annual Bureau of Special Education Back to School Meeting Registration Information!
