This morning training concentrates on providing the specific tools and techniques for IEP meeting participants to improve positive communication, reduce conflict, and focus the meeting on the needs of the student among all team members.

Participants learn to:
• Guide the school and family partnerships in developing appropriate IEP’s for students
• Channel communication to building mutual understanding based on respect
• Develop PPT outcomes based on full participation by all participants
• Generate informed discussions
• Prevent, reduce, and resolve conflict

These instructional outcomes are all delivered in a hands-on, practical application workshop that promotes rapid assimilation and long-term retention of concepts. This workshop prepares participants to successfully conduct effective IEP meetings. The Key2Ed Facilitated training by Doug Little will provide the tools and techniques to participants in how to manage/prevent conflict while ensuring the meeting content and process focuses first and foremost on the needs of the student.

Directors are encouraged to bring general education administrator to this training with them.

During the afternoon session, participants will engage in facilitated conversation with panels of Directors, Parents, Parent Advocates, and General Ed. Administrators around developing effective strategies to build effective school and family partnerships before, during and after the PPT process.
